Recovering from substance abuse isn't just about stopping using, it's about breaking the bad habits that are caused by our addiction.
Being physically healthy is just as important to recovery as being mentally strong. That's why, at Red Door Recovery, we also focus on good food and exercise.
Replacing the toxins that are put into the body during addiction with healthy food is one of the fastest ways to start feeling better.
We have a cook that prepares healthy and delicious meals on-site for lunch and dinner. Any dietary restrictions or needs are catered for.
Exercise releases brain-chemicals like endorphins and serotonin. This improves mental health by reducing anxiety, depression, and negative mood, and improves cognitive function. Exercise has also been found to alleviate symptoms such as low self-esteem and social withdrawal.
This natural way of "feeling good" is an excellent tool to use in recovery.
Red Door has two personal fitness instructors that take classes 4 days a week. We have a purpose-built gym on-site that is available to be used during gym sessions and at our clients leisure in their downtime.
